June…it's hard to believe that five months of 2009 have already passed. June…school's out, baseball season is in full swing. June…preparations for one of the biggest events of the church year are also in full swing - it's VBS time!

This year our VBS, The Boomerang Express, will have some new wrinkles. One of the new wrinkles is that we will have a night VBS instead of a morning VBS. We'll begin each evening at 6:00 p.m. and go until 8:30 p.m. The Lord has provided workers; ask Him to provide the children. We'd love to see your children, grandchildren, and your neighbor's children and grandchildren. Not only would we love to see the children, we'd also love to see you, too. Another of the new wrinkles is that we will have a VBS study for adults. Not only will the children have an opportunity to learn about Peter the Apostle and the Lord Jesus Christ, but you will, too. You'll also have the opportunity to worship with the children when we begin at 6:00 p.m. The adult study will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will last approximately one hour. After the Bible study time, you're welcome to stay for our snack time. Imagine the great memories you'll have of VBS 2009: worshiping with the children, learning the word of God, enjoying time and conversation with friends new and old. Mark June 22-26 on your calendar and plan to be a part of The Boomerang Express.

"Hop on board as VBS takes a train ride across the Land Down Under! As kids wind their way through Australia, they'll discover the vastness of God's love, and they'll learn that no matter where they go or what they do in life - it all comes back to Jesus." VBS will be June 22-26, each evening 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Our theme for this year's VBS is "Boomerang Express: It All Comes Back to Jesus." Our motto is "Follow! Worship! Live through Him." Our scripture verse is "God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him" 1 John 4:9 This is going to be a great time for all children ages 4 through 6^th grade. Adults! You too can hop on board this VBS train. We will have a special Adult class taught by Calvin. Come join us! There is a place for everyone!

Family Night will be part of Friday night's school. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. for class time and the Family Night Celebration beginning at 7:00 p.m. (I encourage you to come to the Family Night even if you have not been involved in VBS. We need a good representation from our church to interact with our guest.)

Summer Son Shine Kids will be a little different this year. We will not meet in June. Summer Son Shine Kids will begin Wednesday, July 1, at 6:30 p.m. All preschoolers and children are invited to join this group for music, recreation, and fun each Wednesday for six weeks beginning July 1. SSSK's will end with their musical presentation on Sunday, August 9.
